The customer wanted a compact cup for both coffee portions and tasting drinks. With the 5 oz format selected, the next step was a practical way to produce it regularly.

We framed the recommendation around the cup geometry, the selected paper and how the formed cups would be checked.

Choosing the 5 oz coffee cup making machine

We recommended the MYC-160SM because the 5 oz product sits within its 2–9 oz cup range. Its stated 140–160 cups/min speed provides a reference for planning regular runs of this small cup.

Our guidance: Confirm the drawing and review the actual paper and coating before finalising the tooling. Set the working pace around the selected stock and the formed cup—not the speed figure alone.

What we recommended alongside forming

Our configuration advice covered two jobs beyond forming: preparing the paper and checking the cups before collection.

Water spray device

We recommended this device to shorten paper wetting time. The actual paper condition should remain part of the setup review.

Quality inspection device

Our advice was to include inspection and a separate reject outlet, so cups identified as defective have a designated path away from collection.

What we ask the customer to check
