Choosing a 12 oz Double Wall Cup Making Setup for Kenya

This Kenya customer selected a plain white 12 oz double wall cup. We built the equipment recommendation around three decisions: the inner-cup material, a matched sleeve stage and a clear route from forming to collection.

Selected equipment: high-specification MYC-OCM12 + MYC-D Cup Sleeve Machine

Finished 12 oz sample for the Kenya double wall cup making setup
The intended output is an assembled cup, not an inner cup alone.
01
Confirm the starting material

Record the inner-cup paper first

The customer’s inner-cup fans are 300 GSM. The selected cup capacity is 12 oz. Together, these give a starting point for reviewing the paper feed and cup tooling.

Our guidance: add the cup drawing and coating details to the specification. Do not carry the 300 GSM figure over to the sleeve material without checking it separately.

02
Select the forming stages

A 12 oz double wall cup making setup needs both jobs covered

High-specification MYC-OCM12 selected to form the Kenya customer’s inner cup
Inner-cup forming: MYC-OCM12.

Make the inner container

The high-specification MYC-OCM12 forms the single wall cup. We recommend finalising its tooling from the actual cup shape, not from the 12 oz capacity alone.

Outer-wall forming: MYC-D.

Specify the matching sleeve

The MYC-D adds the outer layer. Its sleeve setup should be reviewed with a formed inner cup, so the two parts are specified as one finished product.

03
Plan the connection

Include transfer and collection in the layout

The order is MYC-OCM12 → transfer station → MYC-D → collecting table. Our recommendation is to keep this route in the layout review, including access for loading paper and removing cups.

The project layout includes an intermediate station and a separate collection end.
04
Review the assembled product

Check the join between the two stages

Inner cup and sleeve positions identified on the MYC-D forming section
Review the sleeve against the cup it actually covers.

The source footage identifies the inner cup and the sleeve at the MYC-D stations. For sample approval, we suggest checking the sleeve position, cup rim and base against the agreed drawing.

The video shows finished cups, but does not give measured cup dimensions or a liquid-test result. Those checks should be agreed separately if required for your product.

05
Confirm the package

Define the equipment around the finished cup

The selected package combines inner-cup forming, sleeve forming, transfer and collection. A line trial should use the actual materials for both layers; a standalone machine speed is not a confirmed output rate for the full setup.
